P.H.U.P. NOWEX has received a grant from the European Union for the project entitled
"Improving the competitiveness of NOWEX company through the implementation of
modern technologies for the production of closures with reduced weight equipped
with a tamper-evident band, as well as creating new jobs".
The main objective of the project is to increase the competitiveness of NOWEX
through improving its innovation by:
1. Expansion of the product range with a new type of closure (lower weight + tamper-
evident band) for companies operating in the packaging industry;
2. Creation of new jobs (2 posts);
3. Ensuring an efficient and optimal production process for the new products;
4. Optimization of the use of raw materials, equipment wear and tear and the working
time of production equipment due to the implementation of new solutions;
5. Introduction of product and technological innovations allowing for flexible
adaptation to market needs.

The implementation of the project also contributes to the strengthening of the
company's economic activity through:
1. Increase in the level of investment in the company;
2. Increase in export;
3. Gaining new markets;
4. Increase in the company's sales level (by approximately 20%).
The most important aspect of the company's innovation is the implementation of a
new type of closure with improved properties, with reduced weight and equipped with
a leak control system, the so-called tamper-evident band, which is the basic feature
of innovation of new products in the packaging industry.
